The purpose of Phase Two is to teach at least 19 letters and to start blending and segmenting with letters. Children will also learn to read some VC and CVC words and spell them using magnetic letters. Two-syllable words and simple captions will also be introduced, as well as some high-frequency 'tricky' words.
